This was THE perfect and dreamiest birthday spot - cannot give high enough praise to this establishment. They were able to accommodate a large party with little notice and the decor was so gorgeous. Also, it was super affordable considering the area and we loved their pasta. They didn't have any cocktails on the menu but the wine was great and we had the best time. For my birthday song they even turned off the lights and made me feel super special. Can't wait to come back!

Staff is so nice, and the pasta is always 11/10. Great price. It's dimly lit and perfect for a laid back dinner.

Pepe Giallo seems like a very under the radar restaurant. Fairly easy to book a reservation, nicely designed interior with an outdoor seating area which is great in the summer. What I love about Pepe Giallo is how consistently good the food is, the pasta is always al dente and the food just tastes very fresh with just the right amount of sauce. I love coming here and it's always a hit when I bring out of town visitors here for dinner! Highly recommend!

I went to this place in the city tonight for a quiet dinner alone since my husband is on a work trip and I was in the mood for pasta. It was very very good from the moment I walked in until I left. I ended up getting a sparkling rosè wine, the penne vodka, and the Nutella tiramisu for dessert. Everything was very flavorful and excellent! The staff were very friendly and polite as well. Plus, all of the food came out very quickly. I highly recommend and I am definitely going back at some point!

What a cute place! The service is very attentive. It's the kind of place that refills your water glass for you without asking. The pasta was so good! I would definitely go back, just wish that had bigger proportions for the price but that's NYC!

If you're looking for a cozy and romantic date night spot that's big on the decor (think string lights and ivy hanging from the ceiling) but tender on the wallet, Pepe Giallo might just fit the bill (get it, cuz wallet? Haha). Portions were ample for pasta entrees clocking in at $20-30. We love getting three pastas to try because one each is never quite enough and two each is a bit too much. So we opted for the tasty Orecchiette and the even tastier Pappardelle x 2. Mmm, carbtastic! Wine lovers will be happy to find that the house wines are just $9/glass. That's practically free in these inflationary times!

First things first 10/5 truly! If you care to read more please enjoy the rest of the review but if you just need a number know that you won't be let down by the food here. We ordered the lasagna and lemon chicken to share. Great freaking choices. The portion size was already doing the dish justice. The amount of sauce dancing all over the plate brought nothing but joy to my heart. The chicken was tender, juicy, lemony, and delicious. You know those dishes you can eat again right after, this was it! The lasagna was flavorful, soft and had just the right amount of cheese and then a lil' extra We couldn't have been more delighted with the dinner. We left there full and happy as can be. The restaurant is super cute inside and quite busy, reservations are recommended. I'm excited to go back and try something else because that was a fantastic first time.

Every time I go to NYC--I always always have a food itinerary. This is the one place that I did NOT have on my radar and we really stumbled upon it because we were trying to escape the wind and this was the closest restaurant. I'm not sure if that mood set the precedent of my experience here. My favorite aspect of this restaurant was the ambiance--it was warm and inviting, and cozy inside. That is really my most rewarding memory here--the great time I had. The food was solid, they have your standard Italian options at reasonable price points but nothing to write home about. We ordered the fried calamari and zucchini, spaghetti bolognese, and the penne vodka. They give you a jar of Parmesan to sprinkle to your hearts content. I probably wouldn't come back here for the food as I feel there are other options but it was a good meal.
